William O'Brien

Artist Blacksmith

William O'Brien is a Blacksmith who uses the traditional methods of hot forging and metalwork to carry out his profession.
His large workshop and forge at the Wharf is situated in a beautiful position
at the edge of the canal in the charming scenic village of Berriew/Aberriw in Mid Wales.
Much of his work is inspired by the picturesque and lovely Welsh countryside around him.
In the words of Henry Longfellow:

"I see the Smithy with its fire aglow
I hear the bellows blow
And the shrill hammer on the anvil beat
The iron white with heat"
